Some times it is helpful to have background music playing softly during study time. Classical or instrumental. Words in music distracts the students.
Flash cards: These can be bought at a very economical price or made. The easiest to buy is add,
subtract, multiply and divide. These are basics and are used in class and in games such as Top
Cat(in games). Flash cards can be created for anything: the types of angles, colors, numbers,
letters sounds, phonics, spelling words, etc... Use 3x5 or 5x7 unruled index cards and laminate to
save. There are excellent flash cards of the states with a picture and facts for a game on them.
