Class helpers are a way of giving the children responsibilities. These may be:
Line Leader(leads line to and from lunch, to library, in from recess, etc...)
Door holder(Usually two children, hold open the doors and closes them after exiting)
Attendance(takes attendance to the office in the morning and afternoon)
Paper passer(passes out and gathers papers, may be two if the class is large enough)
Top Cat Leader(Moves names in Top Cat game [games section])
Board eraser(Erases board before leaving)
Assistant(does the job of someone that is absent on the chart)
You can have someone for fixing the day on the calendar, etc...
The assignments can be written on the board(title of assignment and name of child) or charts can
be made with the children's names.
